Way back in November 2009, I posted some billboards from around Philadelphia for Emergency Dentist 24/7. The signage featured Toothy, an ailing spokescharacter I did for them a couple of years ago. While in Philly last week for a meeting about some new possibilities for said character, I spotted a new Toothy:

Toothy for Emergency Dentist 24/7

Its been a good long while since I did this spokescharacter for Gersey Labs, the designers who worked on the branding campaign for Emergency Dentist 24/7. At the time 24/7 was a small start-up but I’m guessing things have taken off because every time I’m in Philly (and more recently driving a rural stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike) I see giant billboards with Toothy. Since I will only drive a 5-speed, I am rarely quick enough (or have the extra hand) to snap a picture, so I borrowed this one from the good people at Gersey Labs:

After a few years you get used to seeing your work in print and the excitement of the first few tear sheets gradually fades away, but I have screamed and jumped and pointed every time I’ve passed one of these signs and I think I’ll keep posting the pictures as I find them online, or develop the motor competency to take photos while shifting.
